Jabbok’s Jive- Genesis 32:22-32
He took his children , wife and slaves
brought them over to the other side
and finally he stayed behind
waiting for the dawning of the day
waiting for the end of night
and in a way the man was dancing
and he danced the Jabbok’s jive
It is here where jacob wrestled
till his hip got strucked out of it’s joint
but he still opposed god’s angel
in a fiercefull fight anointed by the pain inside
In a way he still was dancing
and he danced the Jabbok’s jive
It is here where God came down
and had to take a stand
against this man of flesh and blood
who kept resisting him till morning dawn
God had to hit him on his side
and in a way he kept on dancing
and he danced he Jabbok’s jive
God told him please
just let Me go
for the day is dawning
morning glory has arrived
the birds are singing in this one accord
And these words Jacob replied
i will not let you go before you bless me lord.
you must heal me make me feel alive
and in a way he still was dancing
and he danced the Jabbok’s jive
I won’t call you Jacob
for i know a better name
Israel it than shall be
for you have struggled and have won the game
you have fought against your God
seaw his face and kept alive
in a way you have been dancing
and you’ve danced the Jabbok’s Jive
